You're most likely here searching for answers related to a particular condition for yourself or loved ones. Perhaps you have been given my card and are here to find out what this clinic is all about. I have made it my life's work to have those answers for you. If I can't answer your questions than I will join you in your search to find them, or find somebody that does. The word doctor is latin from docere which means to teach. The word patient is latin from pator which means to suffer! The latin word meaning "to treat" is tractor, literally to treat somebody is to drag them around or deal with them. The word student is latin from studere which means to persevere or overcome. This is my role in the patient recovery process, to help the patient understand why-- to teach them. The highest good is to find the cause! Once the key mechanism or mechanisms have been identified, I can then help determine 2 things: what is in excess contributory to the chief complaint, and what is missing or necessary for recovery. Once these are identified a therapeutic intervention specific to patient's needs can be employed, maximizing the probability of resolution. There are no protocols, each patient presents with a unique set of issues needing a specific plan.
